In 1995 Rosebie Morton started planting garden roses
and herbs in the walled garden of her Hampshire farm. Her aim
was to develop and grow a range of scented garden roses, flowers
and herbs with all of the natural charm, character and heady scent,
so often lost in mass-produced varieties.
Tim Hobbs met Rosebie in 1998. Tim was the owner of
a farm in Nanyuki, Kenya and was looking for new ideas to develop
on his farm. The climate in Kenya is perfect for outdoor grown
roses and Tim and Rosebie saw the opportunity for a year round
supply if they joined forces.
In 2003 Karen Watson met Tim and Rosebie. Karen had
contacted the farms looking for a source of scented garden
roses for a business she was looking to open. She had worked in the
fashion industry for many years and had recently left her role
as a Buying Director for Harvey Nichols. Karen, Rosebie and
Tim soon realised that they all shared the same interest; bringing
natural, scented, fresh garden roses, flowers and herbs back
to a market that had lost touch with real flowers. The Real Flower
Company was established.
The company is dedicated to the small scale
production of flowers that will fill your senses with their unique
look, texture and exquisite scent. From tilling, to planting and
harvesting, every bed is tended by hand. All stems are individually
selected, cut, prepared and tied by the people who grow them,
ensuring the highest quality at evey stage, from planting through
to the beautifully finished bunches.

We’ve had some wonderful publicity over the
last few years which has really helped us to spread the word about
the importance of scent and provenance in the world of cut flowers.
Many journalists have championed our cause and over the years
we’ve built up an extremely loyal following of customers who,
having received one of our scented rose bouquets from a friend or
relative, have loved them and have been sending them regularly to
their friends and family ever since.
We have lots of exciting plans and developments in
the pipeline over the next year or so and we intend to use our
newly revamped website (which we hope you like) to keep you up to
date on what’s happening in our company.
Welcome to the world of real flowers.
