Our English farm
is where our story began back in 1995. Rosebie Morton started
planting roses and herbs in the walled garden of her manor house
deep in the heart of Hampshire where she lived with her husband
Matthew and their children.
Rosebie's aim was
to develop and grow a range of scented garden roses, flowers and
herbs with all the natural charm, character and heady scent so
often lost in mass-produced varieties.
Our English farm
remains dedicated to the small scale production of roses, flowers
and herbs that will fill your senses with their unique look,
texture and exquisite scent.
Each day Rob,
who manages our rose and herb paddocks, and his team walk the
miles of rose and herb beds, painstakingly removing dead heads from
each bush and plant.
All of our roses and herbs are hand harvested daily. Our teams
start early to ensure that our flowers are as fresh as they can be
when they are sent over to our workshop for making up into our
distinctive bunches.
Reducing Our Impact On The
Environment
Our English
farm has an excellent wildlife habitat over a large area with
miles and miles of hedgerow, extensive woodland and ponds providing
a rich and diverse range of wildlife. It is a beautiful place to
grow our roses, herbs and foliage and at The Real Flower Company we
want to keep it that way!
Our roses,
foliage and herbs are grown on our arable farm in Hampshire, a farm
certified under the Assured Combinable Crops
Scheme.
The
farm is part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and a member of
the Farm Wildlife Advisory Group.
We
believe it is important that we work in harmony with our
environment and all our produce conforms to LEAF (Linking
Environment and Farming) standards and we farm under the LEAF
Marque.
