New for 2010 - Flower Arranging Courses

We've been receiving many receiving many requests from customers who would like to learn how to make bouquets and arrangements in the style of The Real Flower Company so this year, for the first time, we have put together a series of courses in flower arranging to compliment our popular courses in rose growing.

The venue for our flower arranging courses is Dunford House Conference Centre, Midhust, West Sussex, GU29 0LF. We recently held a course for our own team at Dunford House and thought it would be a great venue for us to run our flower arranging couses from. It is set in a peaceful spot just outside of Midhurst, West Sussex. For directions to Dunford House click here.

The flower arranging courses are all 1 day courses. The arrival time is 9.30am for a 10.00am start and the courses will finish at 4.00pm. The courses vary in price but there is a saving if you are booking with a friend.

Prices include tea or coffee with biscuits on arrival, lunch, and tea with home made cake in the afternoon.

Prices also include all of the flowers and foliage that you will use to make the arrangements and you will take home 2 arrangements from each course.

FLOWERS FOR THE HOME,   Friday 23rd July 2010, £125 per person

An introduction to hand-tied bouquets, vase arrangements and table flowers using English garden roses, garden flowers, herbs and foliage.

WEDDING FLOWERS, Friday 20th August 2010, £150

An introduction to the techniques of wedding floristry which will include making a hand-tied round bridal bouquet, bridesmaid's posy and buttonhole. Ideas for table arrangements will be demonstrated.

FLOWERS FOR THE HOME, Friday 17th September 2010, £125

An introduction to hand-tied bouquets, vase arrangements and table flowers using English garden roses, garden flowers, herbs and foliage.

WEDDING FLOWERS, Friday 22nd October 2010, £150

THE SCENTED CHRISTMAS HOME, Friday 26th November 2010, £135

Learn how to make a door wreath, a table centre and garlands to decorate your home for Christmas.

How is the Day Planned for our Flower Arranging Courses?

9.30am   Arrival at Dunford House for Tea and Coffee with biscuits

10.00am   Introduction to the workshop. Our talented designers will then demonstrate a selection of our bespoke floristry. You will then be shown       how to make the same with help from our team.

1.00pm to 2.00pm Lunch with the opportunity to wander freely through the gardens and woodland trails at Dunford House.

2.00pm to 4.00pm The afternoon will continue with demonstrations and time time to create some more stunning designs for you to take home. There will be time to purchase any floristry sundries and additional flowers as required. The day will finish with tea or coffee and cake and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

 

Rose Growing Courses

Our popular courses on growing roses and herbs are held at the wonderful National Trust House and Garden of Hinton Ampner, Bramdean, Hampshire, SO24 0LA.

The rose growing courses are 1 day courses and start with an arrival time of 9.30am for a 10.00am start. The course will finish at 3.30pm. The cost of the day will be £115 per person.

Prices include tea or coffee with biscuits on arrival, lunch, and tea with home made cake in the afternoon.

Prices also include the flowers and foliage that you will use to make a bouquet to take home.

How is the Day Planned for our Rose Growing Courses? 

9.30 am Arrival for tea or coffee with homemade biscuits.

10.30 am An introduction to growing roses.You will learn the best varieties of roses to grow and how to grow them successfully. You will receive tips on companion planting for roses with the emphasis on scented flowers and foliage. Demonstration on how to prune a rosebush to produce top quality flowers.

1.00 pm to 2.00 pm Lunch with the opportunity to wander freely through the beautiful gardens at Hinton Ampner which is widely regarded as having one of the country’s finest shrub gardens.

2.00 pm to 4.00 pm How to pick and care for roses, herbs and other flowers with demonstration on how to arrange them. You will make and take home a glorious hand tied bouquet of scented garden roses and herbs from The Real Flower Company. The day will finish with tea or coffee and cake and an opportunity to ask any questions.
