Flower Care for all Deliveries

We ship our scented farm-grown roses and flowers directly to your door so most arrive in semi-bud form. This helps prevent damage during travel and gives you more time with your flowers. Please follow care steps and allow 1-2 days for your flowers to fully open.

Our roses may, as nature intended, start to shed their petals after about 5 days. There are however a number of things you can do to extend the life of your flowers.

  1. Place your flowers into fresh water with the flower food sachet provided (unless in oasis or a wreath)
  2. Always display your flowers in a cool room, away from bright sunlight or direct heat
  3. For maximum vase life, change the water every other day (unless in oasis or a wreath) as bacteria in the water will shorten the vase life

Our roses are guaranteed to last for 5 days if the care instructions are followed.

There are some additional care instructions for specific types of arrangements:

Hand-tied Bouquets

If any of the rose petals are blemished from the journey just take them off – it won’t hurt and will help them to bloom!

  1. Remove your flowers from their protective wrapping and fresh bag.
  2. Cut the stems at an angle to the correct length of your vase, then place in the vase with fresh water and flower food. Remove leaves that fall below the level of the water.
  3. Make sure that the water level covers the shorter stems.
  4. If the arrangement is in foam, keep it topped up with water to stop it drying out.
  5. If you like a loose arrangement you can remove or loosen the raffia - this will enable the flowers more space to be able to bloom.
  6. Place them away from direct heat, sunlight, draughts and ripening fruit.
  7. For maximum vase life, change the water regularly and re-cut stems if necessary.
  8. In extreme heat ensure the water is changed daily.

Hatbox Arrangements

  1. Upon opening your box, if any stems have come out of the foam during transit, just snip the end and put them back, they will be fine. If they are slightly displaced, push them back into the foam to make sure they can get a good drink.
  2. Check that your arrangement’s foam base is not dry on arrival, and water carefully if needed.
  3. The arrangement should remain in the Hat Box and be watered regularly to ensure the foam base does not dry out.
  4. Try not to place the Hat Box on a polished surface, and always sit on a coaster or similar.
  5. To ensure the arrangement has a long life, set in a cool place, and out of direct sunlight or draught.

Hatbox Trio Arrangements

  1. Upon opening your box, you will find three hand-tied posies wrapped in paper and a hydrated fresh bag. Please remove all wrapping, cut each posy’s stems by 1 centimetre, and place all three into a large vase of water to enable the flowers to have a good drink for a couple of hours.
  2. Once the flowers have had time to drink, place a recyclable cup in each hat box. Pour water mixed with the flower food provided into the cup, just above halfway. Cut the three posie’s stems to an appropriate length for the hat box and put in place.
  3. Try not to place the hat boxes on a polished surface, and always sit on a coaster or similar.
  4. To ensure the arrangements have a long life, keep the water topped up by checking daily, and place in a cool place, out of direct sunlight or draught.

Flower Tube & Posy

  1. Fill your flower tube halfway with water and add the flower food provided. It is best to do this where you wish to display the flowers so that you don’t have to move the tube filled with water.
  2. Remove the posy from its protective packaging and fresh bag
  3. Cut the flowers to their desired length so that you can display them in the 5 holes in the tube

Funeral Arrangements

  1. Please open the box and let us know immediately if there are any problems on arrival (01730 818300)
  2. If the flowers are in the form of bouquet or sheaf, then please check the water when they arrive with you and top up if necessary to ensure that the flowers have enough water to allow them to last/develop more before the funeral.
  3. If the flowers are in florist’s foam/oasis, then please carefully pour some water onto the foam.
  4. If any of the outer guard petals of the roses have been damaged, please petal pick these off.
  5. On the day of the funeral, please remove all packaging and all cellophane about 1 hour or so before the funeral and, if not in foam, leave the flowers lying on their side.

Wedding Flowers

Bouquets and Posies

  1. Bouquets will arrive in a hydrated fresh bag from which you need to remove them. The stems have been left long so that the bouquet can be put into water until the ceremony.
  2. Cut the ends off the stems and place the bouquet into a vase, pot or bucket with plenty of water. Add the flower food sachet to the water as instructed on the back of the sachet.
  3. The bouquet should be kept in a cool room until the ceremony to keep it fresh, however if you would like the roses to fully open then place the flowers at room temperature for up to 12 hours.
  4. Half an hour before you leave for the ceremony remove the bouquet from the water, remove excess water from the stems with a towel and cut the stems to the desired length. The bouquet is finished with satin ribbon that will dry out quickly once the bouquet is removed from the water.

Petals, Buttonholes and Corsages

  1. Upon arrival, the water vials the buttonholes are in will need to be topped up with water, and all stems trimmed by 2cm. Half an hour before being worn, please remove from the water vial and re-trim the stems to the desired length.
  2. Please keep all arrangements cool, in the fridge, or a very cool room, until required. You may need to pick off some of the outer petals if they are looking untidy or slightly blemished.

Table Arrangements Supplied with Vases or Pots

  1. Bouquets will arrive in a hydrated fresh bag from which you need to remove them. The vase or pot will arrive wrapped in tissue. Unwrap and add water with flower food as instructed on the sachet.
  2. With our candle box arrangements, place the recyclable cup in the candle box provided. Pour water mixed with flower food into the cup, just above halfway. Cut the posie’s stems to an appropriate length for the candle box and put in place.
  3. Keep cool until required. Keep an eye on the water level and top up if necessary.
