British Roses are in Bloom!
The first of our English roses have just come into bloom – each one lovingly hand-nurtured by the small team here on our sustainable Hampshire farm. We may be biased, but we think there’s something really special about our English roses. Each one has taken many, many years to perfect and is blooming with its natural beauty and scent. You can also rest assured that every stem grown on our English farm has been certified as sustainable.
VIRTUAL FARM TOUR
We missed welcoming guests to what would have been our biggest display to date at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. So we thought we’d take the opportunity instead for our founder Rosebie Morton to show you around the farm. Click here to watch the tour.
BRITISH FLOWERS WEEK
Celebrating British flowers and floristry, British Flowers Week this year runs from 15 to 21 June. Join in by displaying some locally grown flowers at the window of your home or business – anything from a few cuttings from your garden or window box to a full-blown display. You can print the British Flowers Week flag to display alongside your arrangement here. If you’d like to order some British flowers for the occasion, you can shop our selection here.
As part of the British Flowers Week celebrations, Rosebie is going to be LIVE on our Instagram page, @therealflowerco, at 1pm on Friday 19 June to answer your questions about growing roses – mark it in your calendar or set a reminder on your phone now if you’d like to join us. If you have a question you’d like to ask Rosebie about growing roses, hit reply to this email and let us know.
FRESH FROM FARM
We’ve introduced a Fresh from the Farm box of English flowers. It’s great value and contains the very best of what’s in season now. The flowers arrive paper-wrapped, ready for you to place in a vase or to use to create your own arrangement at home. It also makes the perfect gift, bursting with beautiful scent and positivity.
Do you know someone who is celebrating their birthday this month? Symbolising happiness, June’s birthflower is the rose – which formed our starting point for this month’s birthday bouquet. An utterly British affair, it combines the first of the season’s scented roses with fragrant sweet peas and glorious rubifolia, its teal and red hues evoking June’s birthstone, Alexandrite.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
throughout the summer you’ll find us at Pimlico and Notting Hill Farmers’ Markets.
we’ll then be at Marylebone and Queen’s Park Farmers’ Markets each Sunday during the summer.
