Introducing our New David Austin Bouquet Collection
We’ve just launched a collection of new David Austin bouquets and wanted to take you behind the scenes to share our inspiration. David Austin’s name is synonymous with scented English garden roses – the beautiful blooms that form the heart of our business and inspired Rosebie Morton to set up The Real Flower Company. Being one of an elite band of David Austin’s chosen growers is a huge honour for us, bringing joy – and wonderfully fragrant roses – to our flower fields, flower barn and London flower shop every day.
David Austin Peach Bellini Bouquet
“This bouquet is what The Real Flower Company is all about,” says our founder and flower farmer Rosebie Morton. “It’s a glorious arrangement that looks as if it has just been picked from the garden – full of wild and natural beauty.”
In fact, our flowers are always freshly picked and every stem is hand-tended from the soil to the finished bouquet. In this arrangement – the perfect birthday or anniversary gift – the extravagant gold, apricot and raspberry blooms of David Austin’s Edith are softened by the full and frilly pale buttermilk rosettes of David Austin’s Patience. These breathtaking roses are thoughtfully hand-tied by Becky, Meg and Carrie in our Hampshire barn with the best of the day’s freshly cut seasonal flowers and foliage chosen for their texture, form and movement.
David Austin Sweet Juliet Bouquet
“I think of this bouquet as representing the best of our English summers. It epitomises the quintessential English cottage garden, with the soft peachy ruffles of David Austin’s Juliet taking centre stage,” says Rosebie.
There’s something very charming and elegant about David Austin’s Juliet. She’s the first rose David Austin bred for the cut flower market and remains one of our most popular choices. Here we’ve complemented David Austin’s Juliet with our English sweet peas (which we are very proud of), seasonal flowers and green and silver foliage from our Hampshire flower farm. This bouquet would make a wonderful romantic gift, summer dinner-party table centrepiece or wedding gift.
David Austin’s Rosy Posy
“A riot of the best of David Austin’s roses” is how Rosebie describes our David Austin Rosy Posy. This bouquet is the perfect choice for fans of David Austin or for someone who wants to sample David Austin’s renowned roses as it features an assortment of the best David Austin blooms from our Fairtrade rose and flower farm.
We always ship our roses in bud so you can enjoy watching them unfurl, changing shape, form and colour in the vase as they open (and it means our naturally grown and conditioned roses benefit from the maximum possible vase life).
David Austin’s Summer Breeze
“This bouquet makes me think of vibrant jewels. Right now the fields around the farm are dancing with pink wild campion flowers (Silene Dioica) and this bouquet makes me think about the wonders of nature and a summer sunset over the playful colours of our wildflower meadow,” says Rosebie.
A new addition to our range, David Austin’s Constance has proved immediately popular. Her cupped-shaped blooms open to reveal cream petals in the centre that diffuse to a romantic pink at the edges. We’ve complemented Constance with our English lilac sweet peas and pops of colour from seasonal flowers to make a bouquet that is the perfect choice to lift someone’s mood and bring joy – sending congratulations for a new arrival, exam results or a new job or just as a spontaneous way to show you care.
We are one of a tiny number of official David Austin cut stem suppliers. We grow David Austin’s roses on our Fairtrade farm in Kenya, which operates with the highest social and environmental standards in every aspect of its business including transport. You can find out more here.
